Wesson enjoys big game as Buckeyes avenge loss to Rutgers


(Photo: Steve Helwagen, 247Sports) After some up-and-down efforts, Ohio State center Kaleb Wesson was on top of his game on Saturday against Rutgers. Wesson scored 21 of his game-high 27 points in the first half as the Buckeyes turned back Rutgers 76-62 at Value City Arena. Wesson, OSU’s sophomore center, actually scored 17 of his team’s first 20 points. He made his first six shots from the floor, including three three-pointers. He ended up 10 of 12 from the floor, including 3 of 4 on threes. The Buckeyes (14-7, 4-6) turned the page after a rough month of January, where they lost six of their seven Big Ten games. C.J. Jackson had 17 of his 20 points in the second half and also grabbed seven rebounds. Luther Muhammad scored 12 points and Keyshawn Woods added 11 for OSU.
