Buckeye Basketball: Wesson and Jackson ready to carry the load during important stretch

COLUMBUS — A rejuvenated Kaleb Wesson and an improved C.J. Jackson would be a good combination for the basketball Buckeyes as they hope to improve their case for the NCAA tournament. Wesson led Ohio State with a game-high 27 points to go along with five assists while C.J. Jackson poured in 20 while pulling down seven boards in a convincing win over visiting Rutgers last weekend. “We have to get back and ready for the next time.” Wesson said post-game Saturday. “There’s still a lot left in this season and things we need to accomplish.” The Buckeyes continue a stretch of winnable games with Penn State arriving Thursday before the team travels to Indiana Sunday afternoon. “Respectfully, coaches don’t look at games like that, winnable or not,” 2nd-year head coach Chris Holtmann told reporters. Ohio State is 4-6 in the Big Ten and 14-7 overall.
