Ohio State athletics has championship-filled weekend

It may not be football season and the Ohio State men’s basketball team does not currently appear to be on a championship run but that doesn’t mean other Buckeye sports aren’t carrying their weight and bringing home hardware. Over the weekend, three Scarlet and Gray teams captured various championships in their respective sport. The Ohio State men’s hockey team was crowned Big Ten champions, as were the women’s indoor track and field team. Not to be outdone, the Buckeye fencing team captured the Midwest Fencing Conference Championship.The No. 6/5-ranked Scarlet and Gray men’s hockey team sealed the regular season Big Ten championship with a 3-3 overtime tie against Michigan in Ann Arbor on Saturday. Senior Mason Jobst scored in the three-on-three overtime period to seal the extra point for Ohio State in the Big Ten standings that clinched the team’s first Big Ten title.
