Ohio State University shares updates of druggings at off-campus parties and bars, cites 17 reports

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Ohio State University cited 17 reports of suspected druggings at off-campus parties and bars in an email on Friday. The reports were made over the last several weeks, OSU spokesman Ben Johnson said. The 17 reports overlap between the Columbus Police Department and OSU’s Title IX office. That means there are fewer than 17 incidents. OSU released three of the reports provided to CPD. Two of the reports referenced suspected druggings at off-campus bars, and the other reported a suspected drugging at a fraternity party. Twelve of the reports came through OSU’s Title IX office and will not be released under federal student privacy laws. The university’s public safety department sent out a release on Feb. 14 warning students about the suspected druggings and sharing safety tips.
