Buckeyes to be without Thayer Munford during spring ball

Ohio State only has one returning starter on its offensive line this year.And during spring, the Buckeyes will have zero returning starters at their disposal on the offensive front. That is because junior left tackle Thayer Munford will miss spring due to the same undisclosed injury (believed to be a knee ailment) that kept him out of the Rose Bowl against Washington on Jan. 1 in Pasadena. This has been confirmed to Bucknuts by a spokesperson from OSU. The 6-foot-6, 319-pound Munford was solid as a first-year starter in 2018, and is expected to be cleared for the start of preseason camp in August. In his place, OSU could use fifth-year senior Joshua Alabi — who started the Rose Bowl — or redshirt freshman Nicholas Petit-Frere.
