COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kyle McCord can’t call Ohio State his new home until January of 2021, at the earliest, which is when the current high school sophomore could enroll early as a college freshman for winter semester. When it comes to the four-star quarterback from the Class of 2021 who verbally committed on Tuesday morning, the Buckeyes just have to get him here 20 months from now. The rest, by comparison, should be easy. The current uncertainty in the Ohio State QB room stemmed from the late swings in recruiting with the Buckeyes. Ohio State got their flip from Dwayne Haskins late in the 2016 recruiting cycle and got lucky. They took an early pledge from Danny Clark in 2017, and wound up with Tate Martell. They lost Emory Jones late in 2018 after a verbal commitment of over a year, and lost Dwan Mathis late in the 2019 cycle.…
