St. Joseph’s Prep quarterback Kyle McCord commits to Ohio State

One of Pennsylvania’s top young quarterbacks will take his game to the Buckeye State as St. Joseph’s Prep sophomore Kyle McCord committed to Ohio State on Tuesday. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound McCord also claimed offers from Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Pitt, Virginia Tech and Michigan State, among others. McCord is ranked as Pennsylvania’s fifth-ranked prospect in the Class of 2021 by 247Sports.com. McCord was named the 2018 Pa. Football Writers’ Class 6A player of the year after throwing for 2,884 yards and 35 touchdowns. He threw for 284 yards, two touchdowns and an interception as the Hawks beat Harrisburg, 40-20, in the 2018 PIAA Class 6A championship game. Ohio State offered McCord and St. Joseph’s Prep wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., another prized recruit in the 2021 cycle, in January. The talented duo have made comments in the past about potentially playing together at the next level.
