The Ohio State men’s tennis went to Orlando, Florida in search of a national championship. After finishing as the national runner-up a year ago, the Buckeyes came into the NCAA Championships as the No. 1 team in the country and coming off a convincing 4-1 defeat of Columbia last weekend. The Scarlet and Gray also captured the men’s ITA National Indoor Team Championship in February, giving the team the confidence it needed to bring home another title.That was not to be, however. Ohio State fell in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships on Thursday afternoon, losing 4-2 to No. 9 North Carolina. After such a successful year, where the Buckeyes finished the regular season with a 32-2 record and were 11-0 in conference play, this was not the way the Scarlet and Gray expected the season to end.
