Oklahoma perfect in opener, Oklahoma State thrilling in rally at NCAA softball regionals

NEXT VIDEO Three Oklahoma pitchers combined for a perfect game in the Sooners’ 12-0, five-inning victory over UMBC on Friday night in the NCAA softball tournament’s Norman Regional. It was the first perfect game in an NCAA tournament for a Sooners program that has a long list of accomplishments, including titles in two of the past three seasons and 40 consecutive wins. Two Pac-12 contenders kept pace with the Sooners with excellent pitching performances of their own. UCLA’s Rachel Garcia was perfect through six and combined with Holly Azevedo on a no-hitter. Washington’s Gabbie Plain struck out 14 and lost her no-hit bid in the sixth. Earlier, Oklahoma State and Tulsa put down a strong entry for the game of the tournament.…
