There was a concern how Ohio State would recruit after the retirement of Urban Meyer last winter. The Buckeyes lost one of the best recruiting head coaches in the country and it was not unreasonable to think the Scarlet and Gray would take a step back in that department with the unproven Ryan Day taking over as head coach for the first time. But Day passed the first test, keeping most of the 2019 recruiting class together. While the 2019 class is small in size, Ohio State put together one of the best-rated classes on an average recruit basis in the country, featuring five-star prospects Zach Harrison, Garrett Wilson and Harry Miller while adding six other players that were ranked in the top 20 at their position.
