Ohio State men’s hockey team had a player selected in the 2019 NHL Draft on Saturday, and he is yet to step on the ice for the Buckeyes. Defensiveman Layton Ahac, who will be a freshman for the Scarlet and Gray in the 2019-20 season, was taken by the Las Vegas Golden Knights in the third round, 86th overall. Ahac played the last two season for the Prince George Spruce Kings in the British Columbia Hockey League and is considered an underrated prospect by most after drastically improving his play over the last two years.
