COLUMBUS, Ohio — Mitchell Melton, a three-star linebacker from Maryland, continued a strong recruiting stretch for Ohio State when he committed to the Buckeyes on Wednesday. Melton, who is 6-foot-3, 235 pounds, became the eighth player to commit to Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class since the start of June. He is the No. 43 outside linebacker and No. 657 player in the 247Sports.com composite rankings. Among his notable offers were Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin. He took officials to Notre Dame, Ohio State and Michigan in June before picking the Buckeyes. Melton is the fifth defensive player to commit to OSU in the last month joining Ty Hamilton, Clark Phillips III, Cody Simon and Darrion Henry.
