COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State defensive end Chase Young has been included on the preseason watchlist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, given annually to the best defensive player in college football judged by the Maxwell Football Club. Young is in for a major junior season at Ohio State that could potentially end with a top-five selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. He is expected to be one of the best football players in the country and the leader of the Buckeyes defense that will try and bounce back from a less-than-stellar 2018 season. Young came to Ohio State as a five-star recruit with high expectations, but his workload saw a massive increase after Nick Bosa was sidelined with an injury after three games.
