COLUMBUS, Ohio – Among the biggest highlights from Ohio State football J.K. Dobbins’ 141-yard, two-touchdown performance against Cincinnati last Saturday were two plays on which he did not touch the ball. When Justin Fields ran a quarterback draw for a touchdown early in the second half, Dobbins led him in, throwing the block that took out a Bearcats linebacker and facilitated the touchdown. Ohio State coach Ryan Day on Tuesday pointed out another big Dobbins block that would have been harder to notice. When the Buckeyes misidentified a protection, the 5-10, 217-pound Dobbins was left to pick up a defensive end coming through the ‘A’ gap. “He stuck his nose in there and blocked him,” Day said. “That’s a tribute to J.K. and (running backs coach) Tony Alford. “Protection is as important as everything else.
