
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Buckeyes would be no lower than No. 15. They’d make a strong argument for the top-10. That’s the kind of legacy that Ohio State football squandered in the rain against Michigan State on Nov. 21, 2015. Every time there’s a ranking of the greatest teams in college football history, like ESPN’s list this week of the top 150 teams, the Buckeye are reminded of that. Lists like this are subjective, but there are objectively great teams in the history of any sport. Several recent teams on the list (because recency bias always exists in these endeavors) shows how the 2015 Buckeyes could have have fit in: 2004 USC is No. 2; 2018 Clemson is No. 5; 2005 Texas is No. 6; 2009 Alabama is No. 10.
