Ohio State football still owes us an Alabama showdown, but playing Georgia isn’t bad


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State has scheduled a non-conference series against Georgia for 2030-31 and now everyone can make the same jokes about current third-graders being excited to play for the Buckeyes in Athens, but this is how college football scheduling works. So this is good. But, three things … 1. Hope this actually happens. 2. Wish this was Alabama. 3. So overdue, it’s ridiculous. Ohio State has scheduled SEC teams before and those series didn’t happen. At one point, the Buckeyes signed a deal to play Tennessee in 2018 and 2019. That was canceled in 2011. Ohio State had a previous plan to play Georgia in 2020 and 2021, but that was canceled in 2012.
