Ohio State football coach Ryan Day appealing to 2020 commits with promise to find the next Jeff Hafley


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day does not deny the influence co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley played in recruiting a highly ranked signing class — especially the five talented defensive backs. However, Day believes Hafley’s pending departure to become head coach at Boston College will have little effect on the 2020 class, which can begin signing letters of intent on Wednesday. Day said he expects all five defensive back commits to sign this week. “It’s not awkward,” Day said. “These guys chose this school for Ohio State and for what we’re doing on defense, and the defense is not going to change. “I’ve talked to the recruits about that.
