CJ Stroud’s commitment moves Ohio State football’s recruiting class up to No. 3 in composite rankings


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has signed 24 of the 26 players from its 2020 recruiting class and its latest commitment gave it a boost in the national rankings. CJ Stroud of Rancho Cucamonga (Calif.) High School announced today that he’d be joining the Buckeyes’ class as the second quarterback with Jack Miller of Chaparral (Ariz.) High School. Stroud is rated as the No. 83 overall player and the No. 2 pro-style quarterback. His commitment has moved Ohio State ahead of LSU in 247Sports.com’s national recruiting rankings to No. 3. OSU trails Clemson — which it will face in the Fiesta Bowl on Dec. 28 — and Alabama. The Buckeyes’ 26 commits are two five-star recruits, 15 four-star recruits and nine three-star recruits.
