Ohio State football team threatened during 2018 Michigan game: Report


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Authorities are seeking a man Sunday in California for threatening to “shoot up” Ohio State University and harm the football players, according to multiple reports. The San Jose Mercury News reported Daniel Lee Rippy was arrested in Livermore, California, on Sunday on suspicion of being a fugitive of justice. According to the report, court records say Rippy faces a charge of threat in interstate communications in the Southern District of Ohio. But according to the Associated Press, after Rippy was released on bond Monday, another arrest warrant was issued for him later that day. Per the warrant, Rippy failed to show up for a required Pretrial Services division appointment or report to a halfway house. Per the indictment cited in the report, Rippy allegedly made an “electronic communication” to OSU on Nov. 24, 2018 — the date of the Buckeyes’ 62-39 victory over Michigan at Ohio Stadium.…
