2020 NFL draft: Detroit Lions select Ohio State DT Jashon Cornell in seventh round


ALLEN PARK — The Detroit Lions spent their last pick of the NFL draft on Ohio State defensive lineman Jashon Cornell. He’s the third Buckeye to land in Detroit over the three-day selection process, joining cornerback Jeff Okudah and offensive lineman Jonah Jackson. Cornell comes with some versatility with the ability to bounce from defensive end to nose tackle. He put up 7.5 tackles for loss and four sacks this past season in Columbus. He’s listed at 6-foot-3, 285 pounds on Ohio State’s roster. Cornell appeared in 46 games while making 15 starts across four seasons. Much like the Lions did with guards, they doubled up on interior defensive linemen to end the draft.
