COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football coach Ryan Day watched K.J. Hill’s seventh-round NFL Draft slide with the same emotions as most Buckeye fans. Day used the words “confused” and “frustrated” when asked what he felt, watching the Buckeyes’ all-time leader in receptions fall to the Los Angeles Chargers with the 220th pick. The depth of receiver talent in the 2019 field maybe played a role. Day, who spent one season each with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers as quarterbacks coach, could not wrap his head around it. “All he does it get open and make plays,” Day said. “He’s the most productive receiver in Ohio State history.
