CLOSE Ohio State basketball player Seth Towns was detained by police during a protest in Columbus, Ohio on Friday. In a video posted online by Eleven Warriors, Towns shouted “Say his name!” “George Floyd!” the crowd replied from which the video was taken. Floyd died in Minneapolis in police custody on Monday. His death has sparked protests against racial injustice and police brutality across the country. He was 46. Derek Chauvin, the white police officer who knelt on the neck of Floyd, who is black, was fired earlier this week and was charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter on Friday.
