Ohio State football defense has much to prove to pull off LSU’s national championship run: Buckeye Take


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Some Ohio State football fans have invoked LSU’s 2019 season as the blueprint for a special Buckeyes season in 2020. After all, the Tigers rolled to an undefeated national championship in 2019 behind a Heisman Trophy quarterback, stud receivers, a first-round draft pick running back and an offense line voted the best in the country. With an offense like that, how much of a defense do you really need? Perhaps Ohio State can follow a similar path to its first national championship since 2014. Perhaps, but this Buckeye defense has a lot to prove before it can call itself as good as the one LSU put on the field in 2019. The common stats do not show anything special from the Tigers.
