COLUMBUS, Ohio — Benji Gosnell of East Surry High School was having a typical Tuesday in Pilot Mountain, N.C., when Ohio State offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson texted him a gif signifying that he should call as soon as possible. The two had built up a relationship early in Gosnell’s recruiting process that a gif was a proper text exchange. Gosnell quickly responded, to find Wilson accompanied by head coach Ryan Day. It was only the second time Day and Gosnell had spoken. After a few minutes, Day extended Gosnell an offer, making him one of four 2022 tight ends to receive one from OSU.
