COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football’s Shaun Wade is among the 42 players listed to the preseason watch list for the Lott IMPACT Trophy. The award is given annually to college football’s top defensive player. The watch list includes 16 linebackers, 15 defensive backs and 11 defensive linemen with the Big Ten and the ACC tying for the most players with nine each. As a former five-star recruit in 2017, Wade is coming off of a redshirt sophomore season where he recorded 26 tackles, four for loss, two sacks, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one interception. His season came to an abrupt end when he was ejected in the first half of a 29-23 loss to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl for targeting.
