
NEW ORLEANS — Michael Thomas has publicly accepted the apology of his New Orleans Saints teammate Drew Brees, who said Thursday his comments from the day before about players kneeling during the national anthem in protest were “insensitive” and “lacked awareness.” Brees made that apology in an Instagram post one day after a video interview he held with Yahoo went viral and drew considerable vocal criticism from other NFL players. Thomas and another former Buckeye, Malcolm Jenkins, were among those speaking out against Brees’ comments. Thomas returned to Twitter with his response to Brees’ apology. “One of my brothers made a public statement yesterday that I disagreed with,” Thomas wrote. “He apologized & I accept it because that’s what we are taught to do as Christians.
