COLUMBUS, Ohio — Urban Meyer should know Justin Fields better than any other national football analyst. The former Ohio State coach still works in the athletic department in addition to his duties as a Fox Sports analyst. He also knows Fields’ new quarterbacks coach well. It’s his son-in-law, Corey Dennis. When ranking his top quarterbacks for 2020, however, Meyer still put Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence at the top of his list. “I had Fields and Trevor right next to each other,” Meyer said in a Fox segment on Wednesday. “I picked Trevor Lawrence for one reason — he played one more year. That was it.” Fields was the Heisman Trophy finalist in 2019, not Lawrence.
