Coronavirus in Ohio Friday update: 55,257 cases, 2,903 deaths

COLUMBUS (WCMH) — The latest number of COVID-19 cases in the state has been released by the Ohio Department of Health.   As of July 3, a total of 55,257(+1,091) cases were reported in Ohio since the pandemic began, leading to 2,903(+0) deaths and 8,084(+46) hospitalizations. Right now, there are 39,423 presumed recovered cases in Ohio. The Department of Health adds the data when it is informed of a case or death. The information is backdated to the actual date the person started exhibiting symptoms or the date the person died. The ODH says technical issues resulted in an incorrect number of deaths reported on Thursday, but reporting issues have been resolved with Friday’s report.
