
Ohio State athletics announced on Tuesday that it is resuming voluntary workouts following a temporary shutdown due to positive coronavirus tests. The Buckeyes are getting back to business. Six days after temporarily pausing voluntary workouts following multiple student-athletes testing positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), Ohio State announced that it is resuming voluntary on-campus workouts. Ohio State’s announcement comes after all student-athletes from the seven sports that returned to campus were tested Monday, with the results being received on Tuesday. Unlike other schools, Ohio State is not specifying how many of its student-athletes have tested positive for the coronavirus. In a statement, Ohio State Athletics Director Gene Smith said that athletes will be tested routinely and decisions regarding the continuation of training will be re-evaluated by medical staff.
