
Pat Bailey, a prominent member of Oregon State’s baseball coaching staff for the past 13 years, including interim head coach in 2019, is no longer with the program. The school announced Thursday night that Bailey will not return to coach baseball for the 2021 season. Promoted to full-time assistant coach is Ryan Gipson, who has served as the program’s volunteer assistant coach and team’s camp coordinator the past two years. Oregon State did not say whether Bailey, 64, resigned, retired or was forced out from his coaching post. “Our Beaver baseball family is extremely grateful for the work coach Bailey has done in his time here at Oregon State University,” OSU coach Mitch Canham said in a statement. “He has poured his heart into this program and our student-athletes lives.
