James Franklin’s Penn State Nittany Lions are regarded as a preseason top-five team by many but it’s tough gaining ground on powerful Ohio State in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes were tabbed as the favorites to capture the Big Ten East and win the conference championship in the 10th annual Big Ten preseason poll conducted by Cleveland.com. Ohio State was a prohibitive favorite to win the Big Ten East and defeat Big Ten West choice Wisconsin in the title game. Thirty-four media members voted in the poll, including PennLive.
