Powers is an in-state player from Marysville and is ranked as a four-star recruit. The 6ft. 4, 220 pound OLB is ranked as the 2nd best at his position and the No. 45 player overall according to the 247Sports Composite. He is also the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Ohio.
