Ohio State received some very important news in late March when Oklahoma running back Trey Sermon announced his intention to transfer to the Buckeye program. After injuries in the running back room, Sermon’s move from Norman to Columbus gave the Scarlet and Gray an experienced senior ball carrier who can do a little bit of everything in the backfield. Sermon is a former four-star recruit out of Marietta, Georgia, who committed to play for the Sooners as part of the 2017 recruiting class, despite being recruited by Tony Alford and Ohio State. In three seasons at Oklahoma, Sermon rushed for 2,076 yards and 22 touchdowns and also caught 36 passes for 391 yards and three more scores while splitting time in the backfield.
