As NFL training camps start-up across the country and teams begin to trim their rosters, the Pittsburgh Steelers got busy on Sunday. According to NFL reporter Dov Kleiman, the Steelers have cut eight players, one of them being former Ohio State Buckeye standout J.T. Barrett. Barrett went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft but was signed by the New Orleans Saints to a three-year contract in 2018. After being waived in September of 2018, Barrett spend time on and off the Saints’ practice squad. In December of 2019, Barrett was signed to the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad. Later in the month, he was signed by the Steelers to a reserve/future contract. With Barrett no longer on the Steelers’ roster, Pittsburgh now has four remaining quarterbacks.
