
COLUMBUS, Ohio — 2023 defensive end Derrick LeBlanc can recall the time he was chased by an alligator. The rising sophomore from Kissimmee, Fla., who has a lake in his backyard, said it was fun to be chased by the alligator because of how it ran out of the water. Now, instead of being chased by an alligator, the 6-foot-5, 240-pound defensive end has the attention of some of the top college football programs in the country, including Ohio State. The Buckeyes offered LeBlanc back on July 29. He was actually in the middle of a training session when his coach got the call from Tony Alford that the Buckeyes were offering LeBlanc a scholarship. “It’s just a blessing because their D-line coach (Larry Johnson), he produces so much, like the best d-ends in the nation.
