Ohio State sports won’t play this fall. The Big Ten elected to cancel the fall sports seasons due to concerns tied to the COVID-19 pandemic. That means, for the first time in over a century, there will be no Buckeye football in 2020.On Wednesday evening, Big Ten commissioner Kevin Warren released an open letter to the Big Ten community, attempting to explain the decision to cancel the fall seasons. Shortly after, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith also released a letter to explain Ohio State’s plan to return to athletics when it is deemed safe.
