COLUMBUS, Ohio — Regardless of what else happens, Ohio State football will be able to say it received No. 1 votes when the preseason Associated Press poll is released Monday at noon. One will be mine, but it won’t be the only one. Those of us on the voting panel were instructed to include all teams, regardless of whether their conferences are playing due to the coronavirus pandemic. As AP football writer Ralph D. Russo explained: “The AP has asked its voters to consider all Division I teams when filling out their ballots, so the preseason poll is expected to include teams from conferences that have decided not to play this fall.
