COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kansas linebacker Dasan McCullough of Blue Valley North High School vividly remembers what it was like telling C.J. Hicks that he was committing to Ohio State football. He’d just got off the phone with head coach Ryan Day and linebacker’s coach Al Washington to give them the good news. Next on his list was to call Hicks, who was headed home from football practice at Archbishop Alter High School. According to McCullough, his future teammate couldn’t contain himself and had to ask his mother to pull the car over so he could process what he’d just heard.
