Like a number of top teams across college football, Ohio State suffered a couple of highly significant opt-outs when potential first-round 2021 NFL Draft picks Shaun Wade and Wyatt Davis announced they would not play in 2020-21. But that was before the Big Ten reversed its decision to postpone the fall football season to the spring, and Wade quickly made it official that he would return to the team. Davis expressed interest in returning shortly after the Big Ten’s decision was announced, and he could be America’s best interior offensive lineman. It wasn’t entirely clear, however, how quickly he could get up to speed ahead of the Buckeyes’ Oct. 24 opener against Nebraska.
