
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Stadium was empty for Ohio State football’s Saturday practice, as it more or less will be for at least the beginning of the regular season. Anyone walking by likely still heard defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs at full energy and full volume challenging his defensive backs. As much as things remain compromised by the coronavirus pandemic, Saturday felt like a real day of football. The Buckeyes opened up a portion of Saturday’s practice to the media — our first looks at the Buckeyes since the first (and is it turned out, only) week of spring practice in March. We went through the same temperature checks, symptom screening and mask policy the OSU players and staff adhere to when in their facilities.
