
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State football has shied away from Heisman Trophy hype since the days of Orlando Pace’s tongue-in-cheek instructional video for making pancakes. The Buckeyes’ current offensive linemen were not even born when Pace first popularized that term in the mid-90s. It lives on as part of his legacy, and as the play-to-play measure of a lineman’s dominance over his opponent. The program kept that theme alive with a new video clip in which All-American guard Wyatt Davis serves breakfast to his teammates. Punter Drue Christman and linebacker Tuf Borland receive the meal of their choice. When a defensive end Tyreke Smith tries to come through the line, however, he is told he can only have the “Wavy Dub special” — pancakes. The clips serves as both a fitting homage to Pace’s dominance and sense of humor 25 years ago and the potential of this Buckeyes offensive line.…
