COLUMBUS, Ohio — Shaun Wade left Jacksonville, Florida, to come back to Ohio State football and live on an island. Wade wanted to win in 2020, of course. With his help the No. 3 Buckeyes are 3-0 ahead of Saturday’s trip to Maryland. Wade also wanted to prove himself at outside cornerback — a higher-risk, higher-reward challenge than the slot, where he thrived in 2019. Wade ended up on that island a handful of times already, with mixed results. Because Wade was the Buckeyes’ most experienced defensive back, and because his slot performance earned him preseason All-American recognition, it was easy to forget the junior had adjustments to make.
