COLUMBUS, Ohio — Five-star wide receiver Caleb Burton of Del Valle High School in Texas has committed to the Ohio State football program. The nation’s No. 15 player and No. 2 wide receiver chose the Buckeyes out of a top 12 that included Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford, Texas and USC. Burton spent the bulk of the summer rated as the No. 1 wide receiver in the country but was sidelined halfway through his junior season with a knee injury. That ranking left open the possibility of wide receivers coach Brian Hartline landing the top player in the country in three-straight recruiting classes, with Julian Fleming (2020), potentially Emeka Egbuka (2021) and Burton (2022).
