COLUMBUS, Ohio — When we recorded this episode of Buckeye Talk, we sympathized with Wisconsin’s ordeal resulting from the cancellation of Saturday’s game at Minnesota. That was the Badgers’ third cancellation due to the coronavirus pandemic. Their own outbreak had caused the cancellation of games against Nebraska and Purdue in the first half of the season. So as we considered whether the Big Ten requiring teams to play six games to qualify for the Big Ten championship was a good rule, we did so from afar. Then came word that Ohio State could be dealing with its own unknown number of positive COVID-19 cases. The Buckeyes already missed out on one game when Maryland’s outbreak forced a cancellation earlier this month. So far, any team that has had to cancel one game has ended up canceling two.
