Around the Big Ten: Ohio State a playoff, if not Big Ten contender


Ohio State may not play enough games to qualify for the Big Ten championship. The college football playoff, however, has no such requirement. The undefeated Buckeyes, whenever they return to the field, are still in good position to play for a national title. They are the only Big Ten team that can make that claim after Northwestern was upset by Michigan State on Saturday. If the Wildcats were to win out and beat Ohio State in the Big Ten title, they could have an outside shot at the playoff. The same goes for one-loss Wisconsin. But those are Hail Marys. There doesn’t appear to be a path for one-loss Indiana, which already lost to Ohio State.
