College Football Playoff predictor: Ohio State should hold steady — for now — despite another cancellation


COLUMBUS, Ohio — No one can say Ohio State football’s College Football Playoff situation is not somewhat hurt by its coronavirus outbreak. Equally incorrect are those saying the Buckeyes must play a minimum number of games or play in the Big Ten championship game to qualify for the national championship chase. Ohio State was already playing the worst schedule of any of the playoff contenders — it’s not even close. Penn State and Michigan picked bad years to implode. That was bad luck for the Buckeyes, and so was having a COVID-19 outbreak in the back half of the season instead of August or September. It is, however, too soon to panic if you are a Buckeyes’ fan.
