Ohio State’s Shaun Wade, first Buckeye named Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, is still improving


COLUMBUS, Ohio — Shaun Wade returned to Ohio State football — twice, in fact, in the past year — with a dual goal in mind. He wanted to help the Buckeyes finish a job that fell short in 2019 and win the 2020 national championship. Wade also wanted to get better. He broke out as Ohio State’s starting slot cornerback on a loaded defense in 2019. Making the transition to outside cornerback would require adjustment and improvement and the same self-critique that has driven him throughout his career.
