COLUMBUS, Ohio — Trey Sermon made a Northwestern defender miss him in the backfield, left tackle Thayer Munford caved in his side of the defensive line, and with a little wiggle, Sermon was gone. Sixty-five yards later, Sermon was finally tackled, as another eruption by Ohio State’s tailback had pushed the Buckeyes out of the shadow of their own end zone and into scoring territory.
