
COLUMBUS, Ohio — It’s championship season, which means Ohio State football will once again bring out special jerseys. Just as Clemson likes to wear its orange pants for bowl season, the Buckeyes have often brought out retro jerseys for the College Football Playoffs. They wore the 1968 Diamond Quest Nike Swoosh home jersey when it faced Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl last season. It was the first time wearing the jerseys since the 2015 National Championship Game against Oregon. This year they’ll bring out the away version of the uniform given that OSU is the lower seed in the Sugar Bowl. The last time Ohio State wore the jerseys in Mercedez Benz Stadium it left with a 42-35 playoff win over Alabama on its way to winning the inaugural College Football Playoff National Championship.
