Kirk Herbstreit tests positive for coronavirus, will call Ohio State-Clemson Sugar Bowl remotely

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kirk Herbstreit will provide his ESPN College GameDay’s coverage remotely after the former Ohio State quarterback tested positive for coronavirus. Herbstreit announced on Twitter that he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. He will not attend the Sugar Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal between the Buckeyes and Clemson but will participate in the coverage remotely. “Earlier this week I tested positive for COVID,” Herbstreit wrote. “Thankfully I feel good & my family is okay, but going through protocols that will keep me home.” • What time and what channel is the Ohio State football game vs. Clemson in the Sugar Bowl? Herbstreit is scheduled to serve as the game analyst along with play-by-play man Chris Fowler. Maria Taylor and Tom Rinaldi will report from the sidelines. That group also worked the teams’ Fiesta Bowl meeting last season, with Clemson winning 29-23. pic.twitter.com/Q6JG3nz4BL — Kirk Herbstreit (@KirkHerbstreit) December…
